چکیده
Room temperature two-dimensional (2D) ferromagnetism is highly desired in practical spintronics applications. Recently, 1T phase CrTe2 (1T-CrTe2) nanosheets with 5 and thicker layers have been successfully synthesized, which all exhibit the properties of ferromagnetic (FM) metals Curie temperatures around 305 K. However, whether therein can be maintained when continuously reducing nanosheet’s thickness to monolayer limit remains unknown. Here, through first-principles calculations, we explore evolution magnetic 1 6 layer several interesting points are found: First, unexpectedly, prefers a zigzag antiferromagnetic (AFM) state its energy much lower than that FM state. Second, 2 4 CrTe2, both intralayer interlayer coupling AFM. Last, number equal or greater 5, become FM. Such dependent magnetism provides new perspective control 2D materials.

Electrically driven reversible insulator-metal phase transition in 1T-TaS2.
In this work, we demonstrate abrupt, reversible switching of resistance in 1T-TaS2 using dc and pulsed sources, corresponding to an insulator-metal transition between the insulating Mott and equilibrium metallic states. This transition occurs at a constant critical resistivity of 7 mohm-cm regardless of temperature or bias conditions and the transition time is significantly smaller than abrupt ...
متن کاملInterlayer electronic hybridization leads to exceptional thickness-dependent vibrational properties in few-layer black phosphorus.
Stacking two-dimensional (2D) materials into multi-layers or heterostructures, known as van der Waals (vdW) epitaxy, is an essential degree of freedom for tuning their properties on demand. Few-layer black phosphorus (FLBP), a material with high potential for nano- and optoelectronics applications, appears to have interlayer couplings much stronger than graphene and other 2D systems. Indeed, th...
متن کاملFew‐Layer Antimonene by Liquid‐Phase Exfoliation
We report on a fast and simple method to produce highly stable isopropanol/water (4:1) suspensions of few-layer antimonene by liquid-phase exfoliation of antimony crystals in a process that is assisted by sonication but does not require the addition of any surfactant. This straightforward method generates dispersions of few-layer antimonene suitable for on-surface isolation. Analysis by atomic ...
متن کاملPhase coexistence and metal-insulator transition in few-layer phosphorene: a computational study.
Based on ab initio density functional calculations, we propose γ-P and δ-P as two additional stable structural phases of layered phosphorus besides the layered α-P (black) and β-P (blue) phosphorus allotropes. Monolayers of some of these allotropes have a wide band gap, whereas others, including γ-P, show a metal-insulator transition caused by in-layer strain or changing the number of layers. A...
متن کاملStructural, electronic and vibrational properties of few-layer 2H- and 1T-TaSe2
Two-dimensional metallic transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) are of interest for studying phenomena such as charge-density wave (CDW) and superconductivity. Few-layer tantalum diselenides (TaSe2) are typical metallic TMDs exhibiting rich CDW phase transitions. However, a description of the structural, electronic and vibrational properties for different crystal phases and stacking configurat...
